1. Scope and educational purpose
Institute education is intended to advance charitable, educational, scientific, and public-benefit purposes. Offerings may serve professionals, researchers, students, patients, caregivers, community organizations, and the public. Each offering must identify its intended audience, scope, objectives, format, availability, limitations, and responsible contact.
General education does not replace individualized medical care, professional judgment, legal or tax advice, regulated training, licensure, employer authorization, or an institution’s policies.
2. Content development and review
Educational content should identify its author or responsible office, review date, evidence sources, intended audience, learning objectives, and material limitations. Topic-specific clinical, scientific, ethical, legal, accessibility, or regulatory review should be obtained when the subject requires that expertise.
Review should distinguish established evidence, emerging evidence, professional interpretation, lived experience, institutional plans, and research hypotheses. Material errors should be corrected promptly, and time-sensitive resources should display a review or revision date.
3. Faculty, presenters, authors, and reviewers
A person will be assigned only to a role supported by verified qualifications or relevant lived expertise. Published activity information should state the person’s name, title, organization, role, topic-specific qualifications, and relevant financial or nonfinancial relationships.
Lived experience and founder perspective may be valuable but do not replace appropriately qualified clinical, scientific, methodological, ethical, or professional-credit oversight.
4. Independence, funding, and conflicts
Educational decisions must advance the Institute’s mission and remain subject to its independent governance. Funding, sponsorship, donated services, related-party involvement, commercial interests, intellectual-property relationships, and other material relationships must be reviewed and disclosed when relevant.
A funder or sponsor may not control conclusions, suppress material limitations, require endorsement, direct research or clinical recommendations for a private purpose, or receive improper private benefit. Sponsor recognition and any goods or services must be described accurately.
5. CE, CEU, CME, and professional-credit status
The Institute does not currently represent any educational activity as accredited or approved for CE, CEU, CME, academic, board, or other professional credit. An activity will be described as credit-bearing only after written approval or accreditation is secured and the exact approving organization, eligible audience or profession, jurisdiction, credit type and amount, approval period, attendance requirements, assessment, disclosures, and reporting process are published.
Registration, payment, attendance, a completion certificate, an Institute logo, or a presenter’s professional credentials do not independently establish accreditation or professional credit.
6. Completion certificates and professional certification
A non-credit completion certificate confirms only the activity, participant, completion date, and stated completion requirements that the Institute has verified. It is not a professional certification, license, board credential, academic award, endorsement, proof of competency beyond the assessed objectives, or authorization to practice.
EL-101 may issue a non-credit completion certificate after manual review of the required knowledge check and attestation. The RP-101 self-guided briefing does not issue a certificate. Future certificate terms will be stated on the applicable offering page.
7. Registration, admission, and communications
A registration exists only when an offering is open and the Institute confirms the participant under the published process. Joining an interest list, requesting a date, submitting an inquiry, downloading a resource, or beginning an open-access webpage is not registration unless the offering expressly says otherwise.
Eligibility, prerequisites, capacity, technology, accessibility, attendance, identification, conduct, recording, assessment, and completion requirements will be disclosed before registration when applicable. Participants are responsible for accurate contact and eligibility information.
8. Fees, scholarships, cancellations, and refunds
Current EL-101 and RP-101 resources are free; no scholarship is needed. A future paid activity must publish its full fee, included materials, payment method, cancellation, substitution, transfer, no-show, and refund terms before registration opens.
Scholarships, reduced fees, travel support, or other assistance will be announced only when funding and written criteria exist. An interest inquiry is not an award, reservation, or promise of support. Selection should use objective, mission-aligned criteria and appropriate conflict-of-interest safeguards.
9. Accessibility and accommodations
The Institute aims to provide perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust educational information. Offering pages should identify delivery format, known technology needs, available captions or transcripts, document accessibility, venue access, and a process for requesting reasonable assistance.
Accommodation requests should be made as early as possible. The Institute will communicate what can be provided and will not represent an accommodation as confirmed until it has been arranged. See the Accessibility Statement.
10. Participant conduct and learning environment
Participants must engage respectfully, protect confidential information, follow safety and scope boundaries, avoid harassment and discrimination, respect intellectual property, and comply with applicable venue, platform, employer, and institutional requirements.
The Institute may limit or end participation when conduct threatens safety, access, integrity, privacy, lawful operation, or the educational environment. Any resulting fee decision will follow the published terms and applicable law.
11. Privacy, records, and recording
The Institute may maintain registration, attendance, assessment, completion, certificate, evaluation, accommodation, payment, and communication records needed to administer an activity. Participants should not submit medical records or unnecessary sensitive information through general education forms.
Recording, photography, reuse of discussion, and participant visibility must be disclosed when applicable. See the Privacy Policy and applicable offering terms.
12. Publications, permissions, and citations
Downloadable Institute publications may be used for personal learning and unmodified institutional discussion unless a resource states different terms. Users must preserve authorship, date, citations, limitations, and Institute notices and may not imply endorsement, accreditation, coauthorship, or permission to alter or sell the material.
External sources remain subject to their own terms. See the Terms of Use.
13. Assessment, evaluation, and improvement
Assessments should match published learning objectives and state their scoring, submission, retake, identity, and completion rules. Participant evaluation may address clarity, relevance, accessibility, faculty, bias, learning outcomes, and needed corrections.
Evaluation data may guide improvement but will not be presented as proof of clinical effectiveness, professional competency, accreditation, or public-health impact unless the relevant design and evidence support that conclusion.
14. Questions, corrections, complaints, and appeals
Participants may report a factual concern, access barrier, undisclosed relationship, conduct issue, assessment question, certificate error, or policy complaint through the Contact Us page. Include the offering code, date, issue, relevant evidence, and requested resolution without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
The Institute will route the matter to an appropriate person and use reasonable efforts to acknowledge it within 10 business days. A certificate or assessment appeal does not guarantee a changed outcome.
15. Policy updates
These policies may change as the Institute’s educational capacity, faculty, delivery systems, accreditation status, and legal responsibilities develop. The current version and effective date will be posted here. Offering-specific terms may add requirements but should not silently contradict these standards.
